Life-long treasure hunter, Weston Giroux, sets out to find an ancient and mysterious relic for the second time, after the first attempt ended tragically decades ago. Things don't quite go as planned when his past catches up with him and his brand new side-kick along the way.
The Skull Rosary is an adventure featurette (fancy way of saying its a pretty long short film) shot with a micro-crew in 2012; making it may be one of my fondest memories. I wanted to write something specifically for new friends Tony Wayne, Kenny Cooper, and myself to all play in. At the time we were regularly exploring the Verdugo Mountain range in Burbank while I was simultaneously playing a lot of the video game Uncharted. The combo of those hobbies inspired this tale of the fictional treasure hunting group, "Le Trois Vaisseau." It was the most ambitious thing I had ever done, the first with any action, and came with a hefty 40 minute hike in and out from location every day. But thanks to an incredibly dedicated cast and the help of some very talented friends, our mini-adventure movie turned out alright, even with our creative limits. It features a truly gorgeous score by Dan Martinez and some ingenious and brave no-budget camera work by Director of Photography Brian Barrow.
The Skull Rosary was nominated for, and won, a wide variety of awards at festivals from New York to California.
I hope you enjoy it even one-tenth as much as we enjoyed making it. Truly some of the most fun days of my life.

Filming the Skull Rosary on location in the wilderness made it a true adventure. Which is appropriate for an adventure film. The blood, sweat, and tears are real! I loved every minute of it. I hope that comes through to the audience.
